We are grateful for our supporters, community partners and countless volunteers who continued to support us through the uncertainty of 2020. Once coronavirus restrictions were lifted, our programs resumed with safety precautions in place, thanks to the dedication of all of you. Our wish is that 2021 is safer, heathier and more beautiful for all.

2020 Volunteer Recognition  – Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful recognized two outstanding volunteers whose dedication, commitment and exceptional contributions helped keep local programs alive.

Gary Smith has worked with Allegheny CleanWays since 2007, primarily with The Tireless Project, a riverfront cleanup program that launched a two-week Monongahela River cleanup in 2020.

Charles Dean Hench joined Keep Perry County Beautiful and the Juniata River Cleanup Crew in 2017 and has participated in numerous affiliate activities since, including the CHEMSweep collection for the safe disposal of pesticides.

Congratulations and thank you for keeping our communities clean and beautiful!

KPB Affiliates Encourage Responsible Recycling with Educational Videos  - Every municipal or private recycling service, whether curbside or drop-off, has its own rules about what can be recycled. It's important for residents to know the rules and follow them to avoid contaminating the recycling stream. To educate county residents on the services available to them, including what is accepted locally, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, with support provided by the Richard King Mellon Foundation, provided grants totaling more than $20,000 to five affiliates to increase awareness about proper waste disposal and recycling and convenient recycling services available in seven western Pennsylvania counties.
